THE STORY
QUINTA DO QUETZAL
Quinta do Quetzal is set in the heart of the Alentejo region. Though a modern winery it practises both Roman and ancient Alentejo winemaking traditions and techniques preserving the traditions of the region.
Quinta do Quetzal is in the heart of a sunny and warm climate, however its positioning on the foothills of the Serra do Mendro allows cooler breezes from the Atlantic Ocean to reach the vineyards. These conditions lead to wider variations in temperature, giving the grapes the heat to ripen during the day yet with the cooling breezes to ensuring the ripening is slow and even, leading to further complexity and freshness. Quinta do Quetzal focuses on limited production of concentrated and carefully selected, top quality grapes to create a wine that expresses the true character of its surroundings.
